RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) legislation covers the restriction of six potentially hazardous substances in Electric and Electrical Equipment (EEE). Known as the Directive 2002/95/EC, came into force since 1st July 2006. It is also linked with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC which includes collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the problem of huge amounts of toxic e-waste.
To help companies manage the restricted substances, SGS is holding a workshop on RoHS and WEEE testing. We cordially invite you to join us and share the knowledge with our expert speakers.
SGS workshop can help you to:
- Understand WEEE Service (Directive 2011/65/EU), directive on waste of electrical and electrical equipment.
- Identify the substances for which RoHS conformity is required.
- Verify documents furnishing evidence of RoHS conformity in the supply chain (such as manufacturer’s statements, quality assurance agreements, analytical results, General Terms and Conditions).
- Analyze the homogeneous substances with chemical methods in accredited laboratory.
