SGS Awards Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers with IFA Protect and Sustain Certificate
SGS India is pleased to announce that M/s. Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (RCF Ltd.) has been awarded the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA) Protect and Sustain certificate for product stewardship.
The IFA Protect and Sustain certificate was awarded in Mumbai, India and was received by Mr. C.M.T Britto, Director Technical, Mr. Ashok Ghasghase, Director Marketing and Mr. Suresh Warrior, Director Finance on behalf of RCF Ltd. It was awarded by Mr. Nilesh Jadhav, Business Director – Certification and Business Enhancement, SGS India Pvt Limited.
Protect and Sustain certification is part of the IFA’s product stewardship initiative, built on the 12 guiding principles of safety, health and environmental (SHE) management. Product stewardship is a step that extends SHE management beyond the factory gate, involving cooperation with suppliers, transporters and retailers. It is about putting responsible business management processes in place across a product's lifecycle.
By taking measures to ensure that products are responsibly-developed, sourced, manufactured, stored, transported and applied, the IFA and its participating members demonstrate their commitment toward ensuring that fertilizers and their intermediate products are used for the benefit of all, and that their inherent risks are minimised and where possible, eliminated.
RCF Ltd., a Government of India Undertaking, is a leading fertilizer and chemical manufacturing company. The certificate has been issued to three units, the RCF Head Office: Marketing of Fertilizers, along with manufacturing units in Trombay and Thal, India.
