SGS India Organised a 1-Day Workshop on Food Safety in Association with Leading Food Institute
SGS India organized a 1-day workshop on food safety in association with leading Food Institute, the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India) (AFSTI) at the Hotel Taj Tristar, Hyderabad on 19th July 2014.
A total of 74 participants representing 24 different organizations including educational & research institutions, medium & small scale entrepreneurs & FMCG corporations participated in the programme.
The workshop was inaugurated Mr B.V. Rao, former Director (Technical) of Britannia Industries Limited.
The first presentation was by Dr Sudershan Rao from the National Institute of Nutrition on the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations and recent developments in the food laws with major focus on food related outbreaks in India.
This was followed by a presentation on food safety certifications and implementation by Sanjay Ghosal, National Sales Manager, Food Safety Certification & Training, SGS India.
The Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India), established in 1957, is one of the largest professional and educational organisations, with around 2500 members - food scientists and technologists, across the globe.
