SGS India Pvt. Ltd. awarded CII-EHS Excellence Award 2013
SGS India Pvt. Ltd. today announced that it has won the 3 STAR rating award in the CII-EHS Excellence Awards 2013 (Southern Region) for demonstrating best in class Envrionmental, Health and Safety practices. The award was bestowed on the company for practices followed at its Ambattur laboratory and office site in Chennai.
The awards were announced in a ceremony organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Chennai on 07 March 2014. SGS’ Ambattur laboratory was evaluated by a team of EHS specialist assessors and members of the jury board on various EHS related parameters including:
- policy adaptation
- compliance with statutory requirements
- regular safety and risk assessments
- PPE compliance
- objectives and targets fulfillment
- effective monitoring of performance
- management focus and visibility
- training competencies
- resource conservation measures
- emergency prevention
- company response system
