SGS Organises Sustainable Business Symposium
In an effort to bring sustainability practioners from different organisations on to a single platform, SGS India recently organised Sustainable Business Symposium 2013. The aim of the event was to enable knowledge sharing and cross-pollination of ideas with an astute focus on the sustainability space. The half day event organised at Gurgaon saw the participation of over 65 like-minded practioners from industries like apparels and textiles, food, electronics and hardgoods. The main draw to the event was the steller list of speakers who showcased industry leading practices and methodologies currently being used or tested to futher the cause of creating sustainable organisations.
The symposium was inaugurated by Mr. Paul House, Managing Director, SGS India. He shared the SGS endorsed ideas for sustainable business and how SGS was helping organisations integrate them into business processes.
The symposium hosted a series of paper presentations delivered by industry experts from leading brands in consumer products and sustainability businesses. Industry leaders shared their adopted strategy designs for a green supply chain and their respective visions for creating a better planet. The symposium was attended by key decision makers from major brands like Ceat, Aditya Birla, Ikea, Impulse, Primark and Ranbaxy to name a few.
